2012 East Bay CSA program

Hi folks,

I am happy to announce our 2012 East Bay CSA program!
After four years of learning, observing, practicing, and planning we are ready to serve.

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Community members buy a share of the farm's harvest for the season- all that it may bring! This distributes the risks and rewards as all share both the booms and the busts of Mother Nature. The community receives the freshest, most nutritious, vital, and healing food and through it a connection to the land, while the farmer receives a sustainable income and a community to serve. Both share in the bond of human support and upliftment. The direct relationship between farm and eater is at the core of a CSA.

The Neat and Potatoes
We are offering 30 full-season CSA shares for $525 (21 weeks, June through October). You will receive a weekly box of produce valued around $25 that will contain a mix of our in-season crops. Members can expect a variety of 6-10 items each week. We are growing a wide variety of crops this year (check out our crop list- link coming soon) and will also be tapping into other Lake County organic farms for extra variety and other offerings to share. Seasonal cycles and our diligence will determine what and how much goes into the box. Spring and early summer bring lots of greens, peas, lettuce, flowers, cooler season roots and such. Summer brings heat-loving crops like squash, melons, tomatoes, peppers, fruits and herbs. We will also be offering other items in addition to the box like eggs, honey, fermented veggies (sauerkraut and pickles) possibly some thanksgiving turkeys and even discounted body work, all with the intention of keeping each other healthy and resilient.

*As members sign up, neighborhood "drop spots" will form where you can collect your CSA box each week. If your home or business has a porch or shaded area you can offer as a drop spot, you'll receive an extra perk (TBA). Home delivery will be available for a fee. In addition to a weekly delivery of produce, CSA members will also be invited to Full Moon Farm for special events and volunteer opportunities, can access recipes on our blog as well as farm updates, and will receive the upmost gratitude from our farmers. Contact us today to sign up and talk about payment options. Operators are standing by...
